VALENTINIAN I (A.D. 364-375), gold solidus, Antioch mint, issued 364-367, Officina E, (4.364 grams), obv. pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed bust to right of Valentinian I around DN VALENTINI ANVS PF AVG, rev. Valentinian standing facing head to right, holding labarum with cross symbol and Victory, RESTITVTOR REIPVBLICAE around, .ANTE., in exergue, (cf.S.4088, RIC 2a). Has been mounted and polished, otherwise good very fine and scarce.
