THRACE, Island of, Thasos, (after 148 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.584 grams), obv. head of the young Dionysos wearing ivy wreath to right, rev. naked Herakles standing facing head to left, holding club and lion skin, around **HPAKLEOUS SWTHROS QASIWN*, to left in field monogram MH, (cf.S.1759, BMC 67-78, SNG Cop. 1049). Uneven grey tone, good very fine.
