TIBERIUS, (A.D. 14-37), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 14-37, (3.58 grams), obv. laureate head of Tiberius to right, around TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS, rev. PONTIF MAXIM, Livia seated to right, with vertical sceptre and branch, (S.1763, RIC 30, BMC 48). Chipped on edge, well centred on obverse, otherwise very fine and very scarce.

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 52 (lot 2240). Of Biblical importance as the issue is often described as the Tribute Penny (Mark 12: 14-17). See another example in this sale in the Jewish and Biblical coin section.
