CLAUDIUS, (A.D. 41-54), AE as, issued A.D. 41-50, (10.444 grams), obv. bare head to left, around TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG P M TR P IMP, rev. Minerva to right, helmeted and draped, hurling javelin and holding shield, SC in field, (S.1861, RIC 100, BMC 149). Attractive brown patination, rough obverse surface, otherwise good very fine and rare in this condition.
