CRUSADER COINAGE, Antioch, Bohemund III, Prince, (1163-1201), copper fractional deniers (3), (0.88, 1.02 and 0.88 grams), early period pre 1188, Class C2, obv. S with pellets, rev. cross pattee, pellets in angles, (Metcalf 468-469, Sch. III/16, Mal.44, 49a). Fine - very fine and all very scarce. (3)
Ex Mathew Rich Collection, the heavier coin sold Alex Malloy list 45, (No.962), March 1997, the other (red patina) from Alex Malloy list 39 (No.1141), December 1994; the black patina example from Spink Auctions Sale 120, July 1997 (lot 664) and all listed with CNG Sale 53, March 2000, (lot 1997, US$200).
