SOUTH INDIA, The Alupas of Udapi (Western seaboard Southern India), debased gold pagoda (2.774 grams), Devanagari series, c.1000-1336, obv. stylised fish, conch to left, lamp right, rev. three lines 'Sri Pa - ndya Dhanam-jaya, (cf.M.671, Mitchiner 'Coinage and History of Southern India' No.221 [p.121]). Extremely fine and rare.
