SOLD $5,100
QUEEN VICTORIA, 1872 Melbourne. Surface marks, nearly full mint bloom, uncirculated and very rare in this condition.
Julius Hogarth played a significant part in the prodution of this issue at the new branch mint in Melbourne. This issue has a wider than normal edge graining as seen on all others. It is also interesting to note a die break commencing from the rim between the NN's in Britannia and that there is evidence of clashing of the dies.
