SICILY, Syracuse, (c.430 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.45 grams), obv. slow quadriga driven to right by male charioteer, Nike flying right crowning horses, rev. SYVPAKOS[ION] around, head of Artemis-Arethusa to right, hair tied in layers, four dolphins around, (cf.S.932, Boehringer 675 same dies, BMC 120, SNG Cop. 661 same dies). Porous flan on obverse, otherwise good fine/very fine, scarce.

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 50 (lot 2059). Boehringer note 11 specimens from these dies, only a few in private collections.
