THESSALY, Thessalian League, (196-146 B.C.), silver double victoriatus, (6.25 grams), Larissa mint, obv. head of Zeus to right, crowned with oak leaves, rev. Athena Itonia advancing to right, brandishing spear and holding shield, on sides **QESSAA LWN*, above across **QRA SU[AOS], letters **P N/S A in field, (cf.S.2232, cf.BMC 9, SNG Cop.275). Attractive light patina, well centred, good very fine and desireable.
