REPUBLIC, Julius Caesar, (assasinated 44 B.C.), (c.49-48 B.C.), silver denarius, (3.9 grams), mint moving with Caesar, obv. elephant to right trampling on serpent, CAESAR in exergue, rev. simpulum, sprinkler, axe and priest's hat, (S.353, Cr.443/1, Syd.1006, Julius Caesar 49). Off centred on the obverse, weak in places, otherwise good very fine.
