CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), silver denarius, issued 207, Rome mint, (3.264 grams), obv. laureate head to right of Caracalla, around ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, rev. Caracalla in military dress standing facing head to right, holding reversed spear and parazonium, at his feet on left a river god reclining on urn, to right two captives seated left hands tied behind backs, around PONTIF TR P X COS II, (S.-, RIC 96, RSC 441). Small striking crack, otherwise good very fine and rare.
