MAXENTIUS, (A.D. 306-312), AE folles, Rome mint, issued A.D. 310-1, (6.488 grams), obv. laureate head of Maxentius to right, around IMP C MAXENTIVS P F AVG, rev. around CONSERV VRB SVAE, Roma seated left on shield in hexastyle temple, holding globe and sceptre, H to left, REP in exergue, (cf.S.3779, RIC 258). Attractive dark tone, nearly extremely fine an interesting type.
