FRANCE, Louis XIV, (1643-1715), silver ecu, 1704[A], Paris mint, overstruck on 1702 Rouen mint, crown over circular shield with crossed sceptre and hand of justice type, and this overstruck on La Rochelle mint issue, obv. draped bust of Louis XIV to right, rev. arms in centre of eight L's and four fleur-de-lis, (KM.362.1/329.3 & 329.9, Gad.224/220, D.1322/1316). Light grey tone, traces of gold and blue patination, weak in places as usual, nearly extremely fine and rare.
