MEXICO, Philip V (1700-1746) and Ferdinand VI, (1746-1760), milled eight reales, 1742, 1751, Mexico City mint, assayer MF, (KM.104.1). Waterworn, 1742 cleaned, 1751 uncleaned as recovered, poor - nearly fine. (2)

Ex 'Dodington' treasure with Certificate number GACDDD00271 for both coins and a personal note to cataloguer from the salver. See p.182 Sale 48 for brief account of the wreck of this ship which struck Bird Island off Port Elizabeth South Africa 17th July 1755.
