Lieut C.Topham on third and fourth medals. Third and fourth medals impressed, all other medals unnamed. Very fine.

Colonel (temporary) Clement Topham. Corps of Royal Engineers. OBE (Mil).: LG. 14Oct1943 '... in recognition of gallant and distinguished service in the Middle East'. M.C.: L.G. 07Nov1918 'During operations in connection with an Allied counter-attack he displayed the greatest gallantry and energy in laying out lines at all hours of the day and night'. MID.: LG. 1943. Colonel Topham served in Egypt 1939-40; commanded Royal Engineers in the Sudan and later Eritrea 1940-41, El Alemein 1941, and Tobruk 1942.
