RUSSIA, Catherine II, copper medal 65mm, by I G, to commemorate the creation of the monument to Peter I in St. Petersburg 1770, obv. bust of Catherine II to left, rev. movement of the stone into position for the creation of the monument with hundreds of viewers. Nearly extremely fine and rare.
A further medal was produced in 1782 to commemorate the dedication of that monument.
