ITALY, Lucania, Thurium (Thourioi), (c.350-281 B.C.), silver stater or nomos, (7.93 grams), obv. head of Athena to right wearing crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with figure of Scylla, shield object before, rev. bull butting to right, Nike flying above to right, symbol behind, in exergue **YOURIWN, (cf.S.447; cf.SNG Cop.1463, McClean 1309 [PL.42 No. 11, same obverse dies], not in any SNG etc.). Well centred on obverse and reverse, extremely fine and a extremely rare type with ethnic in the exergue, apparently unpublished for reverse die.
