MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.746 grams), Byblos mint, issued 330-320 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left with right leg folded back, eagle in outstretched hand, AP monogram, dotted border, to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.6713, Price 3426, BMC 3426a-f, M.1375). Slightly off centred on the obverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine and a rare mint for Alexander.
