MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.908 grams), Babylon mint, issued 323-317 B..C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, KY under throne, head of Helios facing, to right **ALEXANDRO[U], below **BASILEWS*, (cf.S.6713, Price 3697, BMC 3697, M.1542, SNG Von Post 33 [This Coin]). Slightly off centred on the obverse, otherwise good very fine.
