EGYPT, Kingdom of, Ptolemy I (323-283 B.C.), plated silver drachm, (2.42 grams), issued 310-305 B.C., obv. head of Alexander with horn of Ammon, clad in elephant skin and aegis, to right, rev. traces of **ALEXANDPOU on left, Athena Alkidemos to right with spear and shield, A**P* monogram on left, EY on right, above helmet, below lower right eagle to right, (cf.S.7752, Sv.45, BMC 13-14, Zervos Type 70 [p.208]). Some edge chipping, fine/very good and rare.
