EGYPT, Kingdom of, Ptolemy II, (285-246 B.C.), silver tetradrachms, (13.968 grams), issued 280-279 B.C., Alexandria mint, obv. head of Ptolemy I to right wearing aegis, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, standing on thunderbolt, in front **A/PM* monogram around **BASILEWS PTOLEMAIOU, (cf.S.7771, Sv.205, SNG Cop. 88, Meydancikkale 3682-3723); another (13.962 grams), issued 285/4-275/4 B.C., Kition (Cyprus) mint, obv. and rev. similar with rev. letters of **ST/KI*, (cf.S.7776, Sv.366, Meydancikkale 4949-4996). Very good - nearly very fine, both with banker's marks, scratches and surface knocks. (2)
