EGYPT, Kingdom of, Ptolemy II, (285-246 B.C.), silver tetradrachms, (13.880 grams), issued 280-279 B.C., Alexandria mint, obv. head of Ptolemy I to right wearing aegis, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, standing on thunderbolt, in front **A/PM* monogram around **BASILEWS PTOLEMAIOU, (cf.S.7771, Sv.205, SNG Cop. 88, Meydancikkale 3682-3723); another (14.034 grams), issued 271/0-267/6 B.C., Tyre mint, obv. and rev. similar with rev. a club with O above, (cf.S.7773, Sv.640, Meydancikkale 4195-4204). Very good - nearly very fine, both with banker's marks and surface knocks and scratches. (2)
