ROMAN REPUBLIC, Anonymous Series, (225-212 B.C.), silver didrachm (quadrigatus), (5.742 grams), Rome mint, obv. laureate janiform head of the Dioscuri, border of dots, rev. Jupiter in quadriga to right, driven by Victory, Jupiter holds sceptre and hurls thunderbolt, in exergue ROMA raised on tablet, (S.80 [£250], Cr.28/3, Syd. 65). Very fine and scarce.
