ITALY, Campania, Cales (?), (c.269-245 B.C.), AE 43, quadrans, (74.4 grams), obv. crested helmet to right, three dots around, rev. kantharos with four dots, (S.-, Thurlow-Vecchi 267 [described as dolphin! on obverse], Haebelin Pl.62, Sydenham 'Aes Grave' 80a [Pl.II, 1] and Sydenham sale 7 Feb. 1928 [lot 108]). Old hard patina, narly full flan, very fine and rare.
