ITALY, Calabria, Tarentum (Taras), (272-235 B.C.), silver nomos, stater or didrachm, (6.384 grams), obv. naked rider crowning stationary horse to left, below horse **LUKI NOS* in two lines, above to right **SU*, rev. Taras astride a dolphin to left, holding a chlamys on left arm and trident in right hand, to right, owl, **[TA] RAS below, (cf.S.374, Vl.838, SNG ANS 1168). Off centred reverse, otherwise very fine.
