MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.968 grams), Magnesia ad Maeandrum mint, issued c.282-225 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, monogram to left, **ALEXANDRO[U]* to right, maeander pattern in exergue, (cf.S.6713, Price 2008, BMC 2008, M.-). Large flan, good fine, rare.
