MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.054 grams), Colophon mint, issued c.323-319 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, corn grain to left, to right **[A]LEXANDROU*, spear head in right field, (cf.S.6730, Price 1750, BMC 1750a-b, M.313). Nearly very fine.
