SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochus VIII, (121-96 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.124 grams), Antioch mint, third reign, issued 108/7-96 B.C. (dated as 111 by Newell), obv. diademed head of Antiochus VIII to right, rev. Zeus seated to left, on thronbove standing to left, holding star and sceptre, on right **BASILEOS and **ANTIOCOU and to left **EPIFANOUS, to left PE over A, to right, between figure and inscription **G*, (cf.S.7145, Newell SMA 387, Babelon No.1421). Sharp extremely fine and rare in this condition.
