PALESTINE, Roman Procurator of Judaea, Pontius Pilate, under Tiberius, (A.D. 26-36), copper prutah, (1.666 grams), obv. lituus surrounded by Greek inscription, traces of TIBEPIOY KAICAPOC, rev. date within wreath, L[I]Z = year 17 = A.D.30, (S.5623, H.649 [114], Meshorer 230). Slightly off centred on the reverse, earthern patina very fine with a clear date reading.

Of great Biblical interest, this date also being associated with Christ's crucificion.
