NERO, (A.D. 54-68), AE semis, Rome mint, issued c.A.D. 64-66, (3.02 grams), obv. laureate head of Nero to right, around NERO CAES AVG IMP, dotted border, rev. S C in exergue, around TR POT P P, S (mark of value) before Roma helmeted and in military dress seated left in cuirass, holding wreath and parazonium, (S.692 [£110], RIC 226, BMC 281). Attractive dark brown patina with bronze highlights, good very fine and scarce.
