DOMITIAN, (A.D. 81-96), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 93-4, (3.456 grams), obv. laureate head of Domitian to right, around IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P XIII, rev. around IMP XXII COS XVI CENS P P P, Minerva standing to left, holding spear, (cf.S.2736 [£160 EF], BMC 220, RIC 178, RSC 282). Full flan, toned, well centred extremely fine and scarce.

The Reka Devnia hoard contained 81,044 silver denarii and 632 denarii of this ruler but no examples of this variety.
