CARAUSIUS, (A.D. 287-293), billon antoninianus, Clausentum mint (?), (4.458 grams), obv. radiate cuirassed bust of Carausius to right, around IMP C CARAVSIVS P AVG, rev. around PROVID AVG, S C across field, Pax standing to left holding sceptre and branch, (cf.S.3569 [£175], RIC 499). Some silvering remaining, extremely fine and rare in this condition.
