THESSALY, Thessalian League, (196-146 B.C.), silver double victoriatus, (5.63 grams), Larissa mint, obv. head of Zeus to right, crowned with oak leaves, rev. Athena Itonia advancing to right, brandishing spear and holding shield, on sides **QESSAA LWN*, above across **IPPOL OCOS*, below off flan [ATPTIAH], (cf.S.2232, McClean 4923-7, SNG Fitz.2471). Dark patina, good very fine.
