MACEDON, Terone, (500-480 B.C.), silver tetrobol or sixth stater, (2.034 grams), obv. oinochoe to right in dotted circle, rev. quadripartite incuse square, (cf.S.1291 [£150], SNG ANS 748). Slightly chipped, nearly very fine and rare.

Dr. Nicholas Hardwick in 'The Coinage of Terone from the Fifth to the Fourth Centuries BC' in Studies in Greek Numismatics in memory of Martin Jessop Price (pp.119-134, London, 1998), proposes that this issue is part of Group II-III and is c.490-460 B.C.
