ANONYMOUS SERIES, (280-276 B.C.), silver didrachm, Metapontum mint?, (7.21 grams), obv. helmeted head of bearded Mars to left, oak-spray behind, rev. horse's to right on base, corn-ear behind, in exergue ROMANO raised on tablet, (S.62 [£800], Cr.13/1, Syd.1). Off centred on the obverse, otherwise good very fine and rare.
