L. VALERIUS ACISCULUS, (45 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.64 grams), obv. Apollo Soranus to right, star above, ACISCVLV S and pick-axe behind, rev. Valeria Luperca on the heifer to right holding veil, L.VALERIVS in exergue, (S.324 [£110], Cr.474/1a, Syd.998, B. Valeria 17 [£75]). Attractive light patina, nearly very fine and very scarce.

Ex. Glendining's London, March 5, 1980 (lot 196 part). Crawford has determined that 72 obverse dies were used for this type.
