(MAUDSLAY, Sons and Field) Lambeth London, 1851, advertising ticket or enchantillon (proving piece) struck for the Great Exhibition, London, 1851 with a reverse die for the Turkey 20 piastre silver coin, A.H.1255, of Sultan Abdul-Mejid's second issue (1844-61) in copper (37mm) plain edge, upright die axis (H.p.839-40, 2, this piece). Even brown patina, somewhat dull toned otherwise nearly uncirculated and very rare.

Purchased from Baldwin in 1989. Maudslay supplied to Sydney Mint some machinery in 1874 and four automatic weighing machines in 1889.
