Lot 1250

Estimate $650
Bid at live.noble.com.au
SOLD $700

BANK OF MONTREAL 'SIDE VIEW' HALFPENNY TOKEN, 1838 (C.10A3). Minor rim bruise at 9 o'clock, loose collar, some fishtailing evident flat on some high points, otherwise extremely fine or better and very rare.

Ex Burdette G. Johnson Estate and Spink America Sale 3 June 1997 (lot 71). These were rejected due to quality of striking and weight variances. The stress lines evidence in this strike suggest some problem with planchets.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
