OCTAVIAN AND JULIUS CAESAR, (assassinated 44 B.C.), AE sestertius?, South Italy mint (probably Puteoli), struck 38 B.C.?, (17.712 grams), obv. head of Octavian to right, bearded, before, CAESAR, behind DIVI.F rev. wreathed head of Julius Caesar, before DIVOS, IVLIVS behind, (S.465 [£450], Cr.535/1, Syd.1335). Even brown patina, clear legends, nearly very fine with good portraits of Caesar and Octavian, rare.
