NERO, (A.D. 54-68), AE dupondius, issued c.65, Rome mint, (15.042 grams), obv. radiate head to left of Nero, around NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GER P M TR P IMP P P, rev. Roma seated to left on cuirass, holding wreath, in exergue ROMA, S C across field, (cf.S.682, RIC 294, BMC 210). Dark brown patina, minor surface porosity on the obverse, otherwise very fine and rare.
