STACE, Thomas., Hobart Town, currency note threepence (in Spanish Dollars at 5s each) crossed out and replaced in handwriting by the word Currency, 12 June (1826 missing) (No. missing) hand signed by Thos Stace, on printed form, black on white, printed on alphabet paper (type 5). A rare example with hand written 'Currency' under the crossed out In Spanish Dollars at 5s each, which marked the end of Spanish dollars being an official medium of exchange in Van Diemans Land. This note is with an issue date pre dating the 'Sterling Money Act. Corners, edges missing from both top left and right hand side of note, part of mounted papaer on back, otherwise good and very rare.
