KENYA, Prisoner of War Camp, No.5 Thika, one shilling black on red on white paper, not numbered but issued 1941, on edge D.A.P.S.S. - 1941, (Campbell 5468 unpriced). Note has is lightly stained on left edge, otherwise extremely fine and extremely rare.

The P.O.W. camp No.5 (Thika) was a temporary holding camp established for Italian POW's probably about 1940. These notes issued in 1941 are all on thin paper. Campbell writing in 1993 claims less than five notes of each denomination are known to exist.
