MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.7 grams), Amphipolis mint, obv. Herakles head in lion skin to right, rev. Zeus seated left on throne, eagle in outstretched hand, horse head to left, **ALEXANDPOU to right, (cf.S.6713, Price 59, BMC 59). Very fine.
