NEW SOUTH WALES, five shillings or holey dollar, 1813, struck from a Charles III Lima Mint eight reales, 1780 (Mira-Noble 1780/2, dies B/12: I/8). Host coin worn, countermarks fair/fine very good and very rare, the earliest of five known Charles III Lima Mint type holey dollars and the best of the three in private hands.

Purchased from Spink Australia privately in 1985 and ex P.F. Worth Collection (lot 1036) and Noble Numismatics Sale 48 (lot 1568).
