SYRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrius I, (162-155 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.97 grams), Antioch mint, issued period 156-155 B.C., obv. diademed head of Demetrius to right within laurel wreath border, rev. Tyche seated to left with leg of throne a winged monster, holds sceptre and cornucopiae, to right **BASILEWS, to left **DHMHTRIOU, HP monogram in exergue, (S.7014, SMA Newell 98 [Plate VI], Hunter 6). Some porosity, otherwise, good very fine, scarce.
