ROYAL YACHT CLUB, Tasmania, 24mm nickel token for one shilling and sixpence, (NH 117, R8 rarity). Very fine and very rare.
The Royal Yacht Club formed in 1880 used these tokens to pay jackpots honoured by tokens to be spent in the club. One poker machine used was sold to the Civic Club in 1922 and the others seized following a police raid in 1949. See Noel G. Harper 'Tasmanian Passes, Checks & Club Tokens' pp.51-3.
