MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.3 grams), Tarsus mint, issued 333-327 B..C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, B under throne, to right **ALEXANDROU, (cf.S.6713, Price 3000, BMC 3000a-f, M.1289). Double struck on the obverse, crude head and curious style on the reverse, otherwise very fine.
