CEYLON, (Sri Lanka), Anonymous Coinage, gold Kahavanunu or gold stater, 10-11th century A.D., (4.4 grams), obv. king standing holding sun symbol in left hand, other symbols in field, rev. king seated on stool with legend 'Sri lamka Vibhu' (lord of Sri Lanka), (Codrington Plate III, 54). Has been mounted, very fine, scarce.
