ATTICA, Athens, (166-57 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.795 grams), issued 167-6 B.C., (Thompson date) but probably 137-6 B.C. (revised chronology), obv. head of Athena Parthenos to right wearing triple-crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with Pegasus, rev. owl standing to right, head facing, in erect posture, on prostrate amphora, to left Asklepias standing snake on staff,legend across **A QE ME NED, EPI GENO, EPIGO, HR below, I on amphora, all within wreath, (cf.S.2555, Thompson 351e [same dies], SNG Lockett 1930). Extremely fine and rare.

The other known specimens noted by Thompson with all these legends and symbols and also from the same dies, are the in the Lockett, Athens and Berlin collections.
