HERACLIUS AND HERACLIUS CONSTANTINE, (A.D. 614-641), gold solidus of thick fabric and small module, issued at Carthage mint in A.D. 625-626, (4.42 grams), Officinae Delta, obv. facing busts of both rulers each wearing chalmys and crown, around DN ERACLIO CONSTA PP AV, rev. cross potent on three steps, around VICTORIA AG ID, in exergue CONOB, (S.867, DOC 216). Struck from rusted dies, otherwise very fine and scarce.
